If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, I’ve got the perfect thing for you.
The Bayside Water Ski Show Team is hosting the Midwest Regional Show Ski Tournament. The tournament starts Friday with individual events. This is a great opportunity to see amazing jump acts, swivel skiers and strap doubles couples. Any individual who is a member of a team can compete in these events.
Saturday starts the team competition. Each team will perform their show in under an hour. They are scored on a variety of different things. If you’ve ever been to a ski show, this is the perfect opportunity to see even more than you thought was possible. There are teams that build pyramids that are five tiers tall.
Also, this is a great opportunity to come watch if you’ve never seen show skiing because you get to see the widest range of ability and variety in the region. All day, Saturday and Sunday, there will be team skiing going on, so you could come at any time.
The tournament is held in Edgewater Bay. There will be food, beverages and T-shirts available all weekend long. Individual competition starts Friday at 1 p.m. with swivel, followed by strap doubles and jump. Saturday, the show team skiing starts at 9 a.m. and also starts at 9 a.m. Sunday. There will be awards at 3 p.m. Sunday for all acts that were performed over the weekend. I hope that you can make it at some point over the weekend. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!
