AUSTIN — A robber appears to have struck another Austin gas station.
Casey’s General Store was robbed at gunpoint Monday night by a man dressed similar to a robber that struck the Ankeny’s Mini-Mart No. 1 last week.
Police Chief Brian Krueger said the robber walked into the store, located at 1702 12th St. SW, at about 9:34 p.m. Monday with a navy blue or black drawstring bag. He demanded the two employees working at the time give him money.
The robber allegedly told the employees “Give me the money, give me all the money, I’m not kidding,” according to Krueger.
The suspect is thought to be a white man between 5 foot, 10 inches and six feet tall, with a slender build. He wore a light gray hooded sweatshirt, a white T-shirt, dark pants, dark shoes, sunglasses, a black mask and carried a semi-automatic gun.
Police searched the area and at one point tracked the robber with a K-9 unit before they lost his trail. Krueger said the robber may have had a car nearby.
A robber who wore similar clothing and also carried his own bag robbed the Ankeny Mini-Mart just before 10 p.m. on Aug. 24.
