An offensive explosion that eclipsed the season scoring total for the Albert Lea boys’ soccer team lifted the squad to its third win of the season.

Through five games, Albert Lea (3-2-1, 1-2 Big Nine) scored three total goals, but the team found the net frequently on Saturday with a 4-0 win at Stewartville (0-5, 0-2 Hiawatha Valley).

Alejandro Garcia scored all four of Albert Lea’s goals. Nate Nelson, Lay Wah, Porfirio Garcia and Lukas Severson had one assist each.

The mascot for both teams is the Tigers.

Albert Lea’s win halted a two-game losing streak. However, Foster Otten has been solid in the goal. He hasn’t allowed more than one goal in a game and has shut out opponents in all three of Albert Lea’s wins.

Next, Albert Lea will host Rochester John Marshall (3-2, 3-9 Big Nine) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
