Seniors on the Albert Lea girls’ swimming team continued to make their mark.

The Tigers won 10 of 12 events and set two pool records Thursday to beat Rochester Century 92-88 at Albert Lea.

“We had a really good meet,” said Tigers coach Jon Schmitz. “Good swims across the board, and we beat a good team.”

The first pool record was set by Albert Lea’s 200-yard medley relay team that finished with a time of 1:50.78 and consisted of four seniors: Bailey Sandon, Lindsey Horejsi, Ahnika Jensen and Anna Andersen.

Horejsi also set a pool record in the 50 freestyle in 23.86 seconds, Schmitz said.

Andersen and Horejsi both won all four of their events.

Along with the 50 freestyle and 200 medley relay, Horejsi won the 500 freestyle in 5:17.90 and was part of the first-place 400 freestyle relay team with Andersen, Haley Simon and Emily Taylor that finished in 3:45.65.

In addition to Andersen’s role on the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams, she won the 200 individual medley — an event that Albert Lea swept first through third — in 2:17.81 and the 100 freestyle in 54 seconds.

Taylor took first in two relays — including the 200 freestyle relay with Ahnika Jensen, Simon and Samantha Nielsen — and the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:11.65.

Jensen was part of two first-place relays and won the 100 butterfly in 1:04.02.

Sandon took first place as part of the 200 medley relay team and won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:06.84.

Next, Albert Lea will compete at the Section 1A True Team meet at noon Saturday at Northfield Middle School.

The Tigers’ final home meet of the season will be against Mankato East at 6 p.m. next Thursday.
