The Southeastern Minnesota Chamber Orchestra kicks off its 2015-16 season with a pop concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Albert Lea High School auditorium. Orchestra members come from throughout southeastern Minnesota and northern Iowa, ranging in age from high school students to seasoned musicians. The orchestra is under the direction of Brock A. Besse.
The Fall Pops Concert will feature a number of well known popular selections ranging from “Miss Saigon,” “Aladdin” and “The Rose” to hits of the Carpenters and others. According to a press release, it doesn’t matter if you want to recall the 1970s or magic of a Disney movie, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Tickets for the concert are available at the Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau and from members of the orchestra and are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors. There is no charge for K-12 students. Tickets are also available at the door, but are an additional $2.
Sponsorships are also an option with those forms available from members of the orchestra. The Southeastern Minnesota Chamber Orchestra is a not for profit 501(c) (3) organization, which means donations are fully tax deductible as permitted under the law.
