Mary Cerrato, 1933-2015

Funeral services for Mary Cerrato will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Russell Scepaniak will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at 4 p.m. Monday in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winona.
Mary Elizabeth Cerrato, 82, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, in Fallston, Maryland. She was born on Feb. 18, 1933, to Charles and Caroline (Brannan) Hafner in Winona.
Mary grew up in Winona and graduated high school from Winona Senior High School. After graduation she moved to New York City where she met and fell in love with Vincent (Vinny) Cerrato. The two married in Winona on April 14, 1956. They started their family while in New York and then moved to Albert Lea to raise their four children.
Mary was a medical transcriptionist at both the Albert Lea and Austin clinics. She finished her career at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Upon retirement Vinny and Mary were able to realize their dream of moving to sunny Port St. Lucie, Florida. They lived there for over 15 years enjoying the beach, many great friends and family visits.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Vincent; and her parents Charles and Caroline Hafner.
Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include her children Carolyn (Bill) Arnold, Vincent (Becky) Cerrato, Steve (Maureen) Cerrato and Connie (David) Jacobs; grandchildren Tony (Lindsey) Arnold, Liz Arnold, Andy Arnold, Zeke Arnold, Vincent Cerrato, Charlie Cerrato, Rachel Cerrato, Jenna Cerrato, Nick Cerrato, Mitchell Cerrato, Alex Cerrato, Mary Jessica (Grant) Schoen and Anna Jacobs; and many other family and friends.
