LAKEVILLE — Investigators suspect two Lakeville girls missing since 2013 are being hidden by an underground network which helped the teens disappear. 

Gianna and Samantha Rucki were 13 and 14 when they ran away from home. They told a judge in their parents’ divorce case that they were being abused by their father. But the judge found no credible evidence of abuse and awarded custody to the father.

Lakeville Police Lt. Jason Polinski said people they have interviewed about the girls have the same belief — the family courts are broken and the noncustodial parent has no choice but to hide the children. The loosely organized network is sometime called the “protective parent” movement.

The girl’s mother, Sandra Grazzini-Rucki, is charged with depriving parental rights and is in custody in Florida.
