Shooting threat reported
Albert Lea Police receited a report of a Facebook message that some people were going to shoot people on Halloween night at 8:13 p.m. Friday at 1912 Marshall St. The threat was deemed to be false. Albert Lea Police Lt. Hanson said it’s more of a yearly hoax and a good reminder to stay vigilant on Halloween.
Cars egged
Someone was reportedly egging vehicles at 12:37 a.m. Sunday on Bridge Avenue between Marshall and Johnson streets.
Wallet stolen
A wallet was reported stolen to police at 3:50 p.m. Friday at Walmart in Albert Lea. The wallet was reportedly stolen at about 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Male cited, booked and released
An adult male shoplifter was cited, booked and released at 4:51 p.m. Friday at Walmart.
Candy stolen
A male reportedly stole about $50 in candy at about 3:15 a.m. Saturday at Kwik Trip, 1210 E. Main St.
3 arrested for drunken driving
Albert Lea police arrested Cheryl Lynn Drenth, 37, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated at 12:05 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Main Street and Wilson Street. Drenth was booked and released.
Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Chad Edward Whelan, 26, for gross misdemeanor third-degree driving while intoxicated at 12:40 a.m. Friday at 105 North Star Road in Alden.
Deputies arrested Traid Lee Mason, 25, for driving while intoxicated at 10:04 a.m. Sunday at 13012 795th Ave., outside Glenville. Mason was also cited for possessing a small amount of marijuana and for no insurance. He was arrested after his vehicle was found near a river.
1 arrested on local warrant
Police arrested Levi Troy Dahl, 20, on a local warrant at 1:54 a.m. Monday at 2320 Hendrickson Road.
Moped reported stolen
A blue and silver moped was reported stolen at 4:28 p.m. Sunday at 104 Emmons St. in Emmons.
Halloween decorations ripped
Three-and-a-half inflatable Halloween decorations were reported ripped at 7:27 a.m. Sunday at 923 Frank Ave. Damage was estimated at approximately $300 to $400. A back fence was reportedly kicked in, and a car door was reported keyed.
Black box, remote stolen
A black box and remote were reported stolen at 11:35 a.m. Sunday from Motel 65 in Albert Lea. The items were estimated at $580.
Fuel stolen from Kwik Trip
A Hispanic male reportedly stole $58 in fuel at 8:16 p.m. Sunday at Kwik Trip on East Main Street. The male was described as short and heavy set, with shorts to his ankles, white socks, white shoes and a black stocking hat.
Outer pane shattered at Burger King
An outer window pane reportedly fell in at 7:19 p.m. Friday at Burger King. The cause of the incident is unknown, according to Lt. Darren Hanson of the Albert Lea Police Department.
Jewelry and coins stolen
Jewelry and coins were reported stolen at 3:45 p.m. Friday at 1010 James Ave. The suspect reportedly knew the alleged victim.
