Del Westergaard passed away on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born in Albert Lea on Jan. 15, 1944, to James and Ethel and is survived by his siblings Ed, Bob, Janet, Roy and son, Robby Davis. He moved to southern California and met his wife, Marian; they had two children, Jon and Joyce. The family would like his friends and family to join them early this coming summer for a celebration of life service.
“Our dad left us and we love and miss you so much. I have never known another man like you; you were truly one of a kind. Your hard work and your strength and stubbornness rubbed off on us and you made us who we are today. Dad was a free-spirited rebel and he was a real stuntman and idol. God received one kick a– angel this Sunday. He was a wheeling, dealing, treasure hunter, and he was a real treasure to us. He was our diamond in the rough. Rest in peace, Dad,” his daughter, Joyce, said.
“All of us have that person that impacts our life like no other, the one driving force that can push you harder than you knew you could go. Most of us find that in our father, and for my mother, my sister and me, that extraordinary force was her husband and our father, Del. He moved on yesterday to somewhere he can walk without pain and live with a robust energy. He went to find a new home for his family, one that will take him years to perfect. He led us through life with no fear, no doubt and an indomitable spirit. Peace, Dad. You are my hero, Joyce’s hero and mom’s soulmate and truly the love of her life,” his son, John, said.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory. Thoughts and condolences may be sent to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
