Bluebird expo planned

The 2016 annual Bluebird Expo will be Saturday at Byron Middle School. Registration will take place from 8 to 9 a.m. Programs will begin at 9 a.m., according to a press release.

Special guests at the event will include southern Minnesota comedian and nature enthusiast Al Batt, Brittany Nancy Larsen of the Audubon Society, and the International Owl Center will host a program on owls.

There will also be other speakers, including Jake Langeslag, Keith Radel and Ray Simon. Topics they will discuss include increasing fledging rates and keeping bluebirds safe, as well as bats and bat houses.

The expo will also feature sales, demonstrations, videos, exhibits and a silent auction.

Registration for the event is $12 and lunch reservations are $10.50.
