To all of the people who attended the job fair.
Kudos to all of the employers and job seekers who came out to the job fair on Tuesday at Northbridge Mall. There were more than 30 businesses represented and high numbers of people looking for jobs.
It is promising to see people actively looking to find out about businesses and possible career opportunities.
Several prizes were given away, including a Kindle and Hy-Vee gift cards.
We wish the best of luck to both the businesses looking to fill the jobs and the people hoping to find a job.
To Thorne Crest Senior Living Community.
After about two years of redevelopment, Thorne Crest Senior Living Community this week celebrated with a special ceremony at the facility.
The $11 million renovations and additions were impressive and will clearly support our area’s growing senior population.
From your new wellness center, to the updated apartments and fresh woodwork throughout, it was enjoyable to be a part of this milestone in your history.
Congratulations on your beautiful facility, and we look forward to seeing the community’s response.
To the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 16 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 447.
These two veterans groups hosted a clothing drive at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds on Saturday, collecting everything from clean and usable clothing, to shoes, small appliances, furniture and glassware.
The proceeds from the collection will be used to support veterans and local youth activities.
We applaud these efforts and encourage people to support future similar endeavors.
