Workplace safety and health representatives from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry recognized the Lou-Rich assembly plant in Hayward as a Minnesota Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program worksite.
This is the second time a Lou-Rich facility has achieved MNSHARP status, according to a press release. The Lou-Rich plant at 611 Y.H. Hanson Ave. in Albert Lea achieved this award in October 2014. Across Minnesota, there are only 37 active MNSHARP worksites.
Department of Labor and Industry Commissioner Ken Peterson attended the event with officials from the Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
MNSHARP is a Minnesota OSHA program that recognizes organizations where managers and employees work together to develop safety and health programs that go beyond basic compliance with all applicable OSHA standards and result in immediate and long‑term prevention of job‑related injuries and illnesses.
