Column was far from the truth

Paul Marquart’s recent article is a thinly veiled attempt to discredit our local representative Peggy Bennett. He needs to get his facts straight. His claims that Peggy is “blaming others” and his implication that she seeks to “rob money…which funds our schools and hospitals” is absurd.
The fact is that Peggy is doing a marvelous job of representing the concerns of hard working citizens in southern Minnesota. She has laid out both proposals and asked input from those she represents. Perhaps Mr. Marquart doesn’t like Peggy pointing out that the Democrats want to impose an additional gas tax to fund their plan. Who is to blame for that?
Sounds to me like someone is embarrassed to be so completely out of touch with rural Minnesotans.
In the future, if Mr. Marquart wants to peddle personal attacks, he should do so in his own district where he will have to answer to his own constituents.
