Vocal concert scheduled

The Albert Lea High School vocal department encourages everyone to come to its annual spring concert, which will take place Wednesday, according to a press release. There will be two different concerts, both in the high school auditorium.

The concert will celebrate the accomplishments of the students from this past year. The 6:30 p.m. concert will feature the Tiger women’s choir and Tiger mixed choir.  These are ensembles of eighth-and ninth-graders conducted by Mary Bissen and Diane Heaney. The 7:45 p.m. concert will feature the varsity choir, concert choir, chorale and the CATaclysmic show choir.

The senior choir members will also be honored at the later concert. They are Kendra Manges, Emma Tewes, Tianna Abrego, Kaitlynn Mondeel, Jazmyn Sellner, Ashley Willett, Cali Adams, Samantha Nielsen, Alyssa Christensen, Lizzie Hutchins, Amy Sanderson, Emma Olson, Sara Rasmussen, Meliza Lopez, Melanie Lazaro, Fran Eckstrom, Nikki Bos, Bailey Sandon, Samantha Martinez, Raelin Bizjak, Nadia Leal, Forrest Seuser, Foster Otten, Matt Tate, Chris Nelson, Schafer Overgaard, Parker Mullenbach, Andy Woitas, Lukas Severson, Jared Schmidt and Nathan Hensche.

This year’s students from the choirs at ALHS have participated in choral festivals, chorale, caroliers, show choir, solo and ensemble contest, Luther Choral Invitational Festival, Big Nine Music, All-State, trips to Minneapolis, the Chanhassen Dinner Theater and Minnesota Opera, and performed for community events.

Admission to the concert is $7 for adults and free for  District No. 241 seniors and students. Music concert passes are also valid for this concert. Tickets are available at the door and doors will open at 6 p.m. One ticket will gain admittance to both concerts.
