Array of entertainment planned for Worth Co. Fair

The Worth County Fair is happening this week through Sunday at the Worth County Fairgrounds.

As usual, the fair will be centered around a number of different FFA and 4-H events spanning multiple categories.

Entertainment will range from different live acts such as Borderline Band and a rodeo, to a hypnotist and a Buddy Holly tribute. The fair queen contest will take place once again.

Several free meals will be available, with different meals being sponsored by Farmers State Bank and NSB Bank. There are also a few barbecues and pork chop dinners planned.

The fair will finish up with a 4-H teen dance.

Today

• 9:30 a.m.: 4-H/FFA rabbit show in North Quonset

• Noon: 4-H building opens

• Noon: Free meal sponsored by Farmers State Bank in the Shelter House

• 1 p.m.: 4-H/FFA horse show; games, in the North Arena

• 3 p.m.: Farm Bureau Tractor Operator Contest, Grandstand

• 5:30 p.m.: Fair Board appreciation BBQ in the Shelter House

• 7 p.m.: Borderline Band performs in the Grandstand

 

Friday

• 8 a.m.: 4-H/FFA swine show in the Livestock Arena

• 11:30 a.m.: Worth County 4-H butterfly pork chop lunch in the Shelter House

• Noon: 4-H building opens

• 1 and 5 p.m.: CPR awareness session, Shelter House

• 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.: 4-H working exhibits/ educational presentations, 4-H Exhibit Building

• 5 p.m.: 4-H/FFA poultry show

• 7 p.m.: Rodeo in the Grandstand

• Approximately 8 p.m.: wood carving auction

 

Saturday

• 8 a.m.: 4-H/FFA beef show in the Livestock Arena

• Noon: 4-H building opens

• Noon: Free lunch sponsored by NSB Bank in the Shelter House

• 1:30 p.m.: 4-H/FFA dairy show in the Livestock Arena

• 2-4 p.m.: Carnival Ride armband special, $15

• 6 p.m.: 4-H Style Show and awards, Shelter House

• 6:30 p.m.: Tractor pull, Grandstand

 

Sunday

• 9:00 a.m.: Church service in the Shelter House

• 10:30 a.m.: Groundbreaking for new extension office and fair office

• 11:30 a.m.: Baby contest in the Shelter House

• Noon: Beef BBQ sponsored by Worth County Cattlemen in the Shelter House

• Noon: 4-H building opens

• Noon: 4-H/FFA sheep show in the Livestock Arena

• 4:30 p.m.: 4-H/FFA goat show in the Livestock Arena

• 7 p.m.: Buddy Holly tribute in the Grandstand

• 9 p.m.-midnight: 4-H teen dance in the Shelter House

 

Monday

• 6 p.m.: 4-H/FFA livestock ribbon auction in the Livestock Arena
