Northwood to host Fourth of July festivities

NORTHWOOD — Northwood will have its annual Fourth of July festivities for four days starting on Friday.

The beer garden will be open throughout the weekend, hosting performances by Angel Val, Bad Girl Friends and Rhino. There will also be softball and golf tournaments throughout the weekend.

There will be a pool party Friday and the TUNE run and walk will be on Saturday.

A parade will start at 11 a.m. Monday followed by food, inflatables and Miss Northwood at the Worth County Fairgrounds. There will also be karaoke and beanbag and horseshoe tournaments that day, before  fireworks finish off the festivities later that night.

 

Schedule of Events

Friday

5 p.m.: Pool party

6 p.m.: Beer garden opens

6 p.m.: Food served in restaurants, Rockabillies in community center window and Mr. Taco open near beer garden

7 p.m.: Root beer garden, activities for children in front of community center on Central Avenue

7 p.m.: Beer bong contest in beer garden

8 p.m.: Angel Val performs in beer garden

9 p.m.: Bad Girl Friends performs in beer garden

 

Saturday

9 a.m.: Softball tournament

9 a.m.: TUNE run/walk, registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

6 p.m.: Beer garden opens

6 p.m.: Root beer garden, activities for children in front of community center on Central Avenue

9 p.m.: Rhino performs in beer garden

 

Sunday

9 a.m.: Softball tournament

10 a.m.: Golf tournament at Northwood Country Club

 

Monday

7 a.m.: Breakfast at the Methodist Church

11 a.m.: Parade

After parade: Signatures, hot beef sundae, mini donuts of Northwood, inflatables, half pint the clown and games at fairgrounds

2 p.m. (or after parade): Karaoke in Shelter House at Worth County Fairgrounds

2 p.m.: Miss Northwood in Shelter House at Worth County Fairgrounds

3 p.m.: Lions dunk pond at fairgrounds

3 p.m.: Pedal pull at fairgrounds

3 p.m.: Beanbag tournament at Worth County Fairgrounds

3 p.m.: Horseshoe tournament at Swensrud Park

10 p.m.: Fireworks at airport
