Elizabeth Harig and Jason Alvarado of Roseville, California, announce their engagement.

The bride is the daughter of Bradley and Gayle Harig of Emmons and the granddaughter of Arlo and June Jaspersen of Albert Lea. She is a 2002 graduate of Alden-Conger High School and 2006 graduate of Luther College, where she majored in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at UC Davis Medical Center.

The groom is the son of John and Sandra Alvarado of Woodland, California. He is a 1996 graduate of Will C. Wood High School and 2013 graduate of the University of Phoenix, where he majored in management. He is employed as a server at Waffle Barn. The groom has one son, Francisco Alvarado.

An Oct. 8 wedding is planned at Mansfield Lutheran Church. A reception will follow at Wedgewood Cove with a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight.
