Down 18-12 heading into the fourth quarter, Northwood-Kensett had to make a few plays to overcome a six-point deficit against Riceville.
With just under eight minutes left in the game, Northwood-Kensett Caleb Kliment found Marquise Berry for a 7-yard touchdown and the extra-point put the Vikings up a point.
The Vikings would hold on for the victory, thanks to their defense, putting the Vikings’ record at 3-2 on the season.
Kliment completed just six passes on the night, but his touchdown pass to Berry was the most crucial one. Kliment also rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Berry wasn’t as effective on the ground — 12 yards on 16 carries — but he scored a touchdown, too.
Tom Fick led the Vikings with three catches for 35 yards. Hayden Halbach recorded seven tackles.
The Vikings had three sacks on the night — Marcus Brandt, A.J. Branstad and Nathan Wilder.
The victory over Riceville comes on the heels of a 66-24 win the prior week.
Northwood-Kensett has now won three games in a row and owns a record of 3-2.
It will travel to AGWSR Friday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
