AUSTIN —An Austin Police officer fired his or her weapon in an incident on the 1000 block of Eighth Avenue Southwest in Austin Wednesday afternoon, and at least one person was taken to the hospital, an officer confirmed.
There is currently no danger to public, the officer said.
As of 4:15 p.m., police were blocking off the street and surrounding the residence with police tape.
At least one person was being taken for medical attention at around 4:20 p.m.
The Austin Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance and the Mower County Sheriff’s Office was on scene.
No other details are available at this time.
