Delores Jacobs, 1936-2017

Delores Ada Jacobs, 80, of Alden died Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. A funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. The Rev. Nancy Overgaard will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Alden Cemetery. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family. Delores was born June 19, 1936, in Alden, the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Jordan) Jacobs. She was a lifelong member of Alden Methodist Church and a volunteer at Senior Dining. Delores was a caregiver for the young and the old. She never got her driver’s license, but was very mobile, riding her bike around town and going places with family and friends.
Delores was proud to have helped build the altar and pulpit with her dad that is now located at St. John’s Lutheran Community in its chapel.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers James, Elmer, Albert and Donald; and sisters Anna, Marie, Thelma and Dorothy.
Delores is survived by her sister-in-law, Marjean Jacobs, of Alden; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
