Memorial services for Karen L. Springborg, 67, of Owatonna, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Karen died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Karen LaRaye Springborg was born Dec. 27, 1949, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Arthur and Lois (Sherburne) Mills Sr. On July 2, 1973, Karen married Richard Springborg in South Dakota. She worked at Nelson’s for 15 years. Karen enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She particularly loved visiting state parks.

Karen is survived by her children Justin (Sarah) Rule-Springborg of Elk River and Scott (Nicki) Springborg of Owatonna; grandchildren Ariana Springborg and Garrett Springborg; brothers Arthur Mills Jr. and Mike Mills; sister-in-law, Nila Mills; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 37 years, Richard; and brother, Perry Mills.
