A big thank you to all friends, relatives and comrades who attended the Post Everlasting Ceremony at the Albert Lea Legion Post 56 Monday evening. After the colors were posted by the Color Guard, a delicious meal was served by the Sons of the American Legion. Birthday cake was then served by Post 56 Auxiliary, honoring Post 56 for its 98th birthday. A check was presented to the Legion by the auxiliary. The lights were then lowered, and the names of 40-plus members who passed away this past year were entered into The Post Everlasting — one of which was the Tribune’s and Legion’s faithful member, Ed Shannon. He and the others all believed in the motto “For God and Country.” Hats off to those conducting the ceremony. Well done.Thanks.
