Lake Mills girls’ take 1st; boys’ 2nd in triangular

The Lake Mills boys’ and girls’ golf teams were both at Rice Lake Golf and Country Club for triangular matches on Friday.
The girls’ team stole the spotlight, as the Bulldogs shot a low score of 229.
The boys’ team came in second in its triangular with a score of 197.
Girls’ golf
Claire Grothe stepped up and led the way for Bulldogs, as she shot a 53 in her first varsity action of the season. Madison Westcott was close behind with 55, as the Bulldogs beat Eagle Grove by 20 strokes and North Union by 52.
Boys’ golf
Lake Mills was led by Nate Orban’s 45 and Austin Leibeg’s 47 as the Bulldogs finished 25 strokes behind North Union. Alex Martinson tallied 52 and Lane Abele finished with 53.
Lake Mills will be back in action at Bear Creek Golf Course on Monday.
