Dryer fire in jail reported

A dryer fire was reported at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday in the Freeborn County jail. Clothes were reportedly on fire, and they were set in water. The Albert Lea Fire Department responded on scene.

1 arrested for drunken driving

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Cody Shawn Rhyns, 46, for gross misdemeanor second-degree driving while intoxicated during a traffic stop at 5:23 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of James Avenue and East Seventh Street.

Violations reported

Albert Lea police arrested Jose Alex Falcon, 39, for an alleged order for protection violation at 4:34 p.m. Tuesday at 531 W. College St.

A violation of a domestic abuse no-contact order was alleged at 8:14 p.m. Tuesday at 411 S. Broadway Ave.

Sexual assault reported

Sexual assault was alleged at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday in Albert Lea.

Items stolen, damaged

More than $1,000 in stolen and damaged property was reported at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday at 69411 Freeborn County Road 46, outside Alden.

The front passenger window of a car was allegedly recently broken into, leaving glass all over the car, at 3:56 p.m. Tuesday at 2510 Bridge Ave. A purse and wallet were taken from the car’s front seat.
