ShineFest is coming to the Hawthorne Park neighborhood, according to a press release.

ShineFest is a week of service, sponsored by AZ-One Community Church and supported by volunteers from local Christian churches and various businesses.

The week of service kicks off today by supplying volunteers to the Lakes Committee and the Downtown Association for their annual clean-up efforts from 9 a.m. to noon and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., respectively.

Then on weeknights, from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, volunteers will meet at the Hawthorne Park warming house to share a meal and tackle approximately 25 projects in the six-block neighborhood surrounding the park.

On May 20, ShineFest will close with a block party from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hawthorne Park.
