Glenville gears up for festival

GLENVILLE — Glenville Days is returning again this year over a three-day span.

Many events from years past are returning, just in a different order than before.

The festival begins Friday with a scholarship supper, egg toss, food vendors, hammer slagging an Grizzly DJ on Main Street..

Saturday will be filled with park activities, a parade and the river run and walk. Children’s games and activities such as face painting, a ring toss, inflatable jumpers and bingo will be available, among others in Glenville Park. The Free & Easy Band will perform during a street dance later that night on the Main Street stage.

The festival ends Sunday with a community church service at 9 a.m. at First Lutheran Church.

Friday

5-7:30 p.m.: Scholarship supper

6 p.m.: Egg toss on Main Street

8 p.m.-midnight: Grizzly DJ on Main Street

8 p.m.: Hammer slagging on Main Street

Saturday

8 a.m.: River Run/Walk starts at park

10 a.m.: Parade begins near Citizen State Bank

11 a.m.: Little King and Queen contest takes place near tennis court

11 a.m.: Dinner in the park (rain site is First Lutheran Church)

11 a.m.-3 p.m.: Children’s games in the park

12-1 p.m.: Powerwheels derby on tennis courts

1-3 p.m.: Bingo in the park

1-3 p.m.: Soap box derby in the park

3 p.m.: Bean bag tournament at Tailgators

5 p.m.: Smokin’ on Main Street

8 p.m.: Raffle at Glenville American Legion

8 p.m.: Meat raffle on Main Street

8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.: Free & Easy Band on Main Street

Sunday

8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Denny Brue’s pancakes at First Lutheran Church

9 a.m.: Community church service at First Lutheran Church
