Letter: Concerns exist about turbines

I am writing this letter to the editor to thank the London Township Board and officer Henry Tows for exposing what is going to happen to residents of Freeborn County affected by industrial wind turbines.
I wish people would have known how many problems this causes before signing up for windmills, because maybe if they had, they wouldn’t be so anxious to have signed up to get a check.
With these being the second largest turbines made going up, larger setbacks are needed.
When I found out the wind farm was going to put windmills close to where I live, I emailed Dan Litchfield, the senior manager of project development for Invenergy.
I asked him about shadowing from blades turning, as the flickering is very bothersome.
So he emailed me back about flickering shadows on my house. He said, “if it is possible in December and you go to Florida for the winter, no problem. Or if it’s at a time when you are usually not at home and at work, for example, then it would also not be a problem. Or, it you just knew when to close the blinds.”
I thought that was pretty insensitive. Maybe they should shut down the turbines when it bothers homes! Look at this website to see what I mean: youtube.com/rwiSbH0qtuo. I ask you to please watch the video and see what we, the concerned citizens of London Township, are talking about.
Let’s put health and well-being before the greed for money.
