WELLS — Wells will host its second annual Summer in the City event from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday on Broadway in Wells.

According to Wells Area Chamber of Commerce Director Emily Hassing, the free event highlights area businesses and organizations and is a great way to kick off summer in the community.

“This event will again be three jam-packed hours full of activities, music, entertainment and socialization right on Broadway,” she said. “This year, we are excited to welcome back the KBEW Dance DJs and the United South Central Marching Rebels to provide you with entertainment all night long.”

The event is family-friendly with many events geared towards the younger members of the community.

“There will be fun games and activities for kids of all ages, including barrel train rides, bounce houses, and new this year will be a trampoline jumper,” Hassing said. “There will also be lots of business promotions and food vendors.”

There will also be drawings for prizes for both children and adults.

“We had nothing but positive feedback from the first event last June,” Hassing said. “We plan to continue Summer in the City as a new traditional event in Wells and hope it continues to grow and be a successful night.”
