Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services and Heartland Power Cooperative have asked their members to reduce electric usage through 7 p.m. today. People are asked to wait until after that time to use any unnecessary electric power, according to a news release.

Today is a peak alert day, due to forecasted high demands for electricity throughout the Midwestern region. Waiting until after 7 p.m. to use any unnecessary electricity will help keep costs low for members of Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services and Heartland Power Cooperative.
