MINNEAPOLIS — A popular Minneapolis restaurant said two employees who appeared in photos wearing Nazi apparel and displaying white supremacist paraphernalia no longer work at the establishment.
The Uptown Diner said on Facebook that the two “are no longer employed” there after management became aware of the photos, which were circulating Tuesday on social media.
The restaurant said the photos are “severely troubling,” especially in light of the violence last weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, when a woman protesting against white nationalists was killed.
According to a press release, one photo shows five people posing in Nazi uniforms, and that two of them worked at the diner.
The Uptown Diner said it “unequivocally denounces the beliefs and ideals of neo-Nazis and white supremacy” and that it’s committed to fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment.
