Veronica “Vero” Calles-Torrez and Alexander Knudson of Fargo, North Dakota, announce their engagement.

The bride is the daughter of Francisco Calles de Torrez and the late Exalta Torrez de Calles of Coroico, La Paz, Bolivia. She is a 2010 graduate of Universidad Catolica in Boliviana, where she majored in agronomy. She is an entomology PhD graduate research assistant at North Dakota State University.

The groom is the son of Kent and Shannon Knudson of Albert Lea, and is the grandson of the late Clayton and Jennetta Knudson and the late Keith and Marilyn Rasmusson, all of Albert Lea. He is a 2010 graduate of Albert Lea High School and a 2014 graduate of the University of North Dakota, where he received his bachelor’s degree in biology. He is working toward his master’s degree in entomology at North Dakota State University.

A Sept. 23, 2017, wedding is planned in Fargo.
