Beth passed away at her home in Albert Lea after a hard fought battle with cancer on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018. She was 58.
Beth J. (Johnson) Cole was born on July 28, 1959, in Albert Lea to Roger and Donna (Thompson) Johnson.
Beth was a lifetime resident of Albert Lea. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1978. She would continue her education, taking a few classes at the vocational college following high school. Beth worked many jobs throughout her career. In high school, she worked at nursing homes in town, she would work at Food and Fuel, REM-Woodvale, Truth Hardware and she was a shoe department manager at Walmart. Most recently, she was a cashier at Home Depot.
On June 29, 1996, she married the love of her life, Garrett Cole, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.
Beth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school in her early years. Beth loved many things in life. She always had a cup of coffee ready, she watched way too much of Sci-Fi Channel and had quite a collection of Eeyore memorabilia. Beth liked to go hunting and fishing with Garrett and spending time in the outdoors. She liked to read books, crochet, paint and go to craft shows. She also loved all of her pets —too numerous to name them all. Beth was always there for her family. She never missed a birthday, and always remembered to call her family on special occasions. Above all, she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. They were the apple of her eye.
She is preceded in death by both parents, Roger and Donna; an infant brother, Dennis; siblings Barb Johnson, Ron Johnson and Deb McCullough; nephew, Bruce Johnson, and father-in-law, Jesse Cole.
Beth is survived by her husband of 21 years, Garrett Cole; daughter, Heather (Scott) Johnson and their children, Emily and Benjamin; son, Cody (Cassandra Laite) Bennett and their children Avah, Honey and Alexis; a mother-in-law, Arlene Cole; as well as many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Blessed be her memory.
