Editorial: The Tribune’s Progress edition is almost here

The culmination of almost five months of writing stories, selling advertisements and designing pages for the Tribune’s largest special section of the year will take place on Saturday with the publication of the newspaper’s annual Progress edition.
This year’s theme is “Investing in our Community,” and we have highlighted people, businesses, nonprofits, schools and other organizations from across the area that are making a difference through their actions, whether through time, money or other means.
We have enjoyed getting out and seeing all the good things happening, and we encourage you all to check it out.
There are more than 50 stories in the publication — all of varied topics, including education, business, health, industry, agriculture, family, home, charities, faith, neighbors and community.
One of those stories, on the cover of our Community section, features the Tribune’s first-ever Citizen of the Year, which was chosen by a committee of Tribune staff members and other members of the community. We hope to make this feature an annual tradition with our Progress edition.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts about the section and hope you enjoy it.
