This year, The Big Freeze added several new events and slapped a tailgate portion onto the event during Super Bowl weekend. Many families headed out to Edgewater Bay Pavilion to sled, watch the blue ice plunge, play on the ice, take pictures with Elsa and watch the sky for the Minnesota Kite Society. In the afternoon, downtown events included a two-person circus act, foam finger decorating, a beanbag tournament and a hotdish cookoff.
