Three Arkansas men who allegedly participated in an armed robbery earlier this month in Albert Lea were charged Monday in Freeborn County District Court.
Trevor Nathaniel Nordstrom, 21, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, is charged with first-degree aggravated robbery. Dalton Lee Wade Candler, 19, also of Cherokee Village, and Jacob Grant Cox, 20, of Blackrock, Arkansas, are both charged with aiding and abetting first-degree robbery.
Court documents state the men were charged after Albert Lea police officers responded to a call for assistance from the alleged victim on March 7 who reported she had been threatened at her residence. She said her car had been stolen and the people who stole her car had threatened to kill her.
The alleged victim, who reportedly stayed with Cox in February, said the three people were present when Nordstrom held her at gunpoint. Nordstrom allegedly told her they were taking the car to Arkansas.
The men reportedly took her cellphone and a Walmart gift card. They had allegedly threatened to kill her if she called the police during a six-day period prior to when she called police.
The vehicle was reportedly involved in a crash in Arkansas.
Judge Steven Schwab set conditional bail for each of the men at $30,000. Cox, Candler and Nordstrom were released on their own recognizance Tuesday.
