Editorial: Clear snow around mailboxes to ensure delivery

We hope this won’t apply too many more times this year, but we wanted to issue a friendly reminder in case there was any question.
Since our newspaper is delivered via letter carriers with the U.S. Postal Service now, it is vital to clear the space around your mailbox and keep your sidewalks clear of ice to ensure the carriers deliver your mail — and your newspaper.
If for any reason your letter carrier does not deliver your mail anymore or it gets put on hold for you to pick up at the post office, then it will also not deliver your paper.
To avoid this problem, clear enough space around your mailbox to allow a mail truck to easily and quickly deliver your mail, or in the case that your mail is delivered to a box on your house, make sure the path is clear.
