Letter: Support Save Our Hospital group at the Capitol

Save Our Hospital is preparing for Lobby Day at the state Capitol March 22.

We citizens are the most effective advocates for a local full-service, acute-care hospital. We are the visible, front-line promoters to ensure patients in our community receive the medical care they need. And to achieve this goal, we must bring our cause to the attention of legislators, as they are instrumental to helping the most vulnerable, very sick and mothers-to be. Let’s show them the dedication and passion Albert Lea and area residents have in our quest for a choice in affordable, local health care.

Join the campaign! On March 22 we will be whisked to the renovated Capitol via a coach bus, leaving from the Shopko parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m. SOH will provide informative literature for you to share with members of the Health and Human Services committees in both houses, and a list of questions to ask to guide your conversations.

We encourage you to wear red or your SOH gear. Pack a lunch or bring a snack, though the Capitol’s cafeteria is readily available. A $5 donation will help reduce transportation costs.

Send any questions and your readiness to participate to sohinalbertlea@gmail.com. No experience required — simply a passion and vision for a choice in our local health care.
