1 arrested for drunken driving

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Mark David Niemi for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated, an open container violation and a stop sign violation during a traffic stop at 11:34 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Freeborn County Road 30 and 140th Street.

4 cited for violations

Police cited two 17-year-olds for underage drinking after a suspicious person or vehicle was reported at 11:26 p.m. Friday at the intersection of East Ninth Street and Todd Avenue. At the scene, police cited Christopher John Seedorf, 19, for underage drinking.

Police cited a 14-year-old for misdemeanor vehicle tampering after a suspicious person was reported at 2:28 a.m. Monday at the intersection of St. John Avenue and East Seventh Street.

Sexual assaults reported

A sexual assault report was filed at 1:42 p.m. Saturday in Albert Lea.

Houses broken into, items stolen

A house was reported broken into at 7:10 a.m. Sunday at 121 Elizabeth Ave.

A counterfeit $100 bill was reported taken at 8:07 a.m. Sunday at McDonald’s, 609 E. Main St. The incident allegedly occurred Saturday.

Property was reported taken at 2:52 p.m. Monday at 915 Maplehill Drive.

Identity theft was reported at 2:35 p.m. Friday at 413 Ridge Road. Someone allegedly used another person’s U.S. Bank Flexperks Visa card. No loss was reported because the bank took care of the charges.

An attempted break-in to a camper was reported at 10:52 a.m. Saturday at 1961 S. Broadway Ave.

A car was reported bought with a bad check at 2:57 p.m. Friday at 808 N. Broadway in Alden. The vehicle was entered stolen Saturday and recovered the same day in Olmsted County.

A house was reported broken into and the windows to a basement all taken out at 5:39 p.m. Saturday at 72047 290th St. outside Hartland. Extra patrol was requested.

A gas drive-off was reported at 4:13 p.m. Sunday at ExpressWay, 105 North Star Road in Alden. The suspect was a male with short, dark hair.

A gas drive-off was reported at 4:50 p.m. Sunday at Gopher Stop, 309 E. Main St. in Clarks Grove. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a newer red minivan.

2 arrested on warrants

Deputies arrested Shylah Lynn Vandelaarschot, 31, on a local warrant at 12:18 a.m. Friday at 1719 Sunset St.

Deputies arrested James Michael Harris, 31, on a Mower County warrant at 7:09 p.m. Friday at 201 W. Main St. in Albert Lea. Harris was issued a ticket for driving after suspension.

Child abuse/neglect, child in need of protection reported

A child abuse/neglect report was filed at 7:58 a.m. Sunday in Albert Lea.

A child in need of protection was reported at 4:59 a.m. Monday at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, 404 Fountain St.
