A.L. dancers compete in Iowa

On March 24, the Albert Lea Just For Kix Teams competed in the Together We Dance Competition in Decorah, Iowa at Luther College.
The event featured 11 competing teams from Albert Lea which included over 125 performers.
Teams placing first were fourth grade, fifth grade, seventh grade, Wee Jazz and Mini Jazz.
Middle Jazz and Junior Kix were awarded second. Sixth grade and hip hop received a third place award and Junior Jazz and Middle Lyrical were awarded fourth . There were a total of 185 performances throughout the day consisting of 1580 dancers.
The Albert Lea Just For Kix is in its 22nd year of performance and includes local area students grades 3 year old to 12th grade. The Just For Kix local director is Holly Jackson. Head instructors are Jena Inderlie, Mitzi Lehocky and Shayla Heggastad.
Just For Kix is a national leader in dance instruction and is committed to youth advancement through performance. Based out of Brainerd, Minnesota, the organization has over 21,000 dancers in more than 200 locations nationwide.
Annually, the company provides multiple Together We Dance competitive opportunities for affiliated dance team programs to compete. Coming together to compete provides an opportunity for teamwork and promotes excellence. Just For Kix also provides dance camps and an Outback Bowl Performance Tour travel opportunity for its dancers.
