Thorne Crest Senior Living Community will host a free presentation by Kimberly Alwin, owner of A Smooth Move, at 2 p.m. April 26, according to a press release.

The presentation, titled “Rightsizing: What You Must Know Before You Move,” will tackle how to plan for a move and “rightsize” belongings.

The presentation will provide ideas on what to keep in a move and how to make a new space work well, along with layout planning, design tips and pitfalls to avoid when moving. Attendees will learn how to plan a move, ideas on what to keep, how to make a new home work and more. The event will also feature free refreshments and door prizes.

“Most of our clients have not moved in 30 years or more and need to considerably reduce their possessions in order to resettle,” Alwin said.

For those with decorative items they no longer want, they are welcome to bring them to the presentation. There will be an opportunity to swap items with others attending the seminar. Anything that is left behind will be donated.
