Freeborn County is in a burning ban as the area continues to experience high winds and low humidity.

The ban began early Sunday. Temperatures in the 70s today along with winds gusting as high as 45 mph and relatively low humidity make the continued ban necessary, said Freeborn County Sheriff Kurt Freitag.

He said the ban will remain in place until conditions change.
