Area native graduates

Cassie Lynn Davis graduated from St. Catherine University in St. Paul on May 20. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Davis is the daughter of Charlie and Linda Schmidt of Alden and Ron Davis of Albert Lea.

Student named salutatorian

Cooper Urban, son of Lisa (Ehrich) Urban and Stuart Urban of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, graduated salutatorian from Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Delaware.

Urban is the grandson of Donald and Elaine Ehrich of Albert Lea. He was also a 4-year letter winner in lacrosse and football. He was an all-state football kicker/punter in football and an all-state offensive player in lacrosse.

Urban plans to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York this fall, where he will play lacrosse.

Area students graduate

Minnesota State University, Mankato awarded 2,335 degrees at the end of the spring 2018 semester. Among those graduating were Alissa Allison, Charles Borneman, Taylor Doyle, Tessa Dye, Makenna Friehl, Emily Johnson, Regina Klennert, Monica Ocampo, Christopher Olson, Adriana Reyes, Whitney Roche and Dillon Schmidt, all of Albert Lea; Mikayla Gormley of Bricelyn; Joel Faugstad of Emmons; Dalton Nesset of Glenville; Elizabeth Viktora of Hollandale; Breanna Bethke of New Richland and Margo Latusek, Brandon Nasinec, Brittany Pitcher, Amber Prange and Terri Seedorf, all of Wells.
