2 arrested for gun possession
Albert Lea police arrested Athena Alizabeth Berg, 25, for possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number, carrying a pistol without a permit and possessing a controlled substance during a traffic stop at 10:38 p.m. Monday at the intersection of West Main Street and South Washington Avenue. At the scene, police arrested Arsenio Broderick Hanson, 29, for possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number, carrying a pistol without a permit, controlled substance possession, possession of a firearm by a felon and driving after revocation.
1 arrested for stolen vehicle possession
Police arrested Judd Michael Goskeson, 32, for possessing a stolen vehicle after a recovered stolen vehicle was reported at 12:07 p.m. Monday at 1525 Margaretha Ave. Goskeson was released pending charges.
1 cited for violation
Police cited a juvenile for possessing a small amount of marijuana after drug violations were reported at 2:39 p.m. Monday at Albert Lea High School, 2000 Tiger Lane.
Unfounded social media threat reported
An unfounded social media threat involving a student bringing a gun to school was filed at 8:14 a.m. Monday at 2000 Tiger Lane.
Houses broken into, thefts reported
A house was reported broken into and a door jam removed at 6:10 p.m. Monday at 11875 735th Ave. in the Glenville area. A bedroom was ransacked. Garbage was in the driveway.
A Toro lawn mower valued at approximately $2,900 was reported stolen at 1:54 p.m. Monday at 2400 Consul St. The suspect is in custody in Mason City.
A home was reported broken into and a vehicle gone at 1:41 p.m. Monday at 1604 Academy Ave. Items from the home were also taken.
Banking fraud was reported at 11:25 a.m. Monday at 143 W. Clark St.
Medication was reported missing from a home at 2:14 p.m. Monday at 510 E. Fourth St. There was no forced entry.
An iPod was reported stolen from a vehicle at 2:40 p.m. Monday at 2708 Bridge Ave.
