Need a job, but don’t know where to start looking?
In August, there were 236 job listings within 10 miles of Albert Lea posted in the previous 30 days and 523 within 25 miles, according to www.minnesotaworks.net. That number includes a variety of positions, both skilled and unskilled, some of which were advertised and some of which were not.
With Freeborn County continuing to have a low unemployment rate of 2.9 percent in July, it is a job-seeker’s market right now with open employment in the community.
What better way to access some of the job openings than at the upcoming Albert Lea Job and Career Fair slated for 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday. There will be about 30 businesses looking for employees.
There will be everything from industrial and health care jobs, to professional, office, retail and transportation positions. Both full-time and part-time jobs will be represented.
People will be able to meet employers, gather information and submit applications.
Those who may have been recently unemployed, along with these looking for a new opportunity, should jump at the chance of the fair.
