Potential for severe weather in Freeborn County Thursday

Residents of Freeborn, Steele, Waseca, Faribault and Worth counties should prepare for strong winds Thursday as severe weather is possible in the afternoon.
As of approximately 3:35 p.m., the National Weather Service announced that Freeborn, Faribault, Steele and Waseca counties are in a tornado watch until 11 p.m.
Worth and Winnebago County can expect damaging winds and possible tornadoes. The National Weather Service has announced the county is in a severe thunderstorm watch 11 p.m. The weather service predicts non-thunderstorm winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 miles per hour. Large hail is a lower risk. Heavy rainfall is also possible.
Freeborn, Steele, Waseca, Faribault and Worth counties all have a chance of thunderstorms Monday.
As of 6:45 p.m. Thursday, power outages were reported in the Clarks Grove, New Richland and Hayward areas.
As of 7:45 p.m., the tornado watch has been canceled.
