Staff members of U.S. Rep. Tim Walz will host roundtables on the Small Town and Regional Vitality Investment Act, according to a press release.
Walz’s staff is welcoming First District constituents to participate in roundtables to discuss the issues that are most important in their lives and Walz’s Small Town and Regional Vitality Investment Act (H.R. 6383).
The upcoming roundtables with local leaders from different sectors, backgrounds and perspectives are part of the Southern Minnesota Way of Life Tour, a listening tour Walz and his staff launched in May 2017 to all 21 counties of Minnesota’s First Congressional District.
The Freeborn County roundtable will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Hayward Community Center and Fire Hall in Hayward.
The Small Town and Regional Vitality Investment Act is the direct result of constituent input gathered along the Southern Minnesota Way of Life Tour and will be a key topic of discussion at the roundtables.
Written by the people of Southern Minnesota and introduced by Walz in July, the legislation invests in the needs and longevity of Minnesota’s small towns and empowers local leaders to create jobs, according to the release.
