Marcella Anderson, 1927-2018

Marcella “Sally” M. Anderson, 90, of Hayward died Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea.
Marcella Marie Jensen was born Oct. 17, 1927, in rural Freeborn County, the daughter of Walter and Anna (Nelson) Jensen. She received her education at a country school in Freeborn County.
On Jan. 24, 1946, she was united in marriage to Orris Anderson at Trinity Lutheran Church near Bixby. The couple lived most of their marriage in Hayward, except for a short time when they lived in Blooming Prairie. Sally liked to dance, play cards, quilting and loved to work on puzzles. She was a member of Hayward Lutheran Church, Hayward Senior Citizens Center and Ladies Auxiliary in Blooming Prairie. She also enjoyed coffee parties and attending birthday parties. Orris died Feb. 8, 1991, and Sally returned to Hayward to live after his death.
Sally is survived by her six children, Nelda (Ed) Haberman of Blooming Prairie, Kenneth Anderson of Austin, Lori (Phil) Rauen of Austin, Paula (Gary) Broitzman of Hayward, Dean (Kellie) Anderson of Hayward and Dale Anderson of Albert Lea; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Leslie Jensen of Mapleview and Donald (Carol) Jensen of Kiester; sisters-in-law Marlys Loew of Blooming Prairie and Jan Jensen of Hollandale; brother, Roger Anderson, of Austin; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Anna Jensen; her husband, Orris; two granddaughters, Mindy Rauen and Ann Broitzman; great-grandson, William Cech; six brothers; four sisters; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hayward Lutheran Church in Hayward. The Rev. Joshua Enderson will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Cemetery in rural Austin. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and for one hour prior to the service at the church Thursday.
