2 injured in crash on I-35

Two Faribault residents were injured Tuesday when a vehicle and a semi collided on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County.

Corey John Vanthomme, 37, and Wendy Marie Hanetraaf, 38, were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with injuries deemed not life-threatening.

Court documents state Vanthomme was driving a 2002 Ford Taurus and Duwayne Francis Paulsen, 64, of Rockford, Iowa, was driving a 2015 Peterbilt semi south on I-35 Tuesday. The semi was moving from the left lane to the right lane when it collided with the rear of the Taurus at 7:10 p.m., two miles south of the Clarks Grove exit, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Paulsen was not injured in the crash.

All involved were wearing their seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report states.
