A Minneapolis man was injured Wednesday when his semi entered the median ditch in snowy and icy conditions on Interstate 35, two miles north of the Iowa border.
Ismail Mohamud Hassan, 25, was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea by Gold Cross Ambulance with at least one injury deemed not life-threatening.
Hassan was driving a 2007 Freightliner semi south on I-35 when he lost control of the semi due to snowy and icy road conditions, causing the semi to enter the median ditch at 6:42 p.m., three miles south of the Glenville/Twin Lakes exit, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Glenville Fire Department assisted on scene.
