Have a teacher who has made a difference in your child or grandchild’s life?

Now’s your chance to recognize that teacher for his or her impact by making a nomination for the 2019 Albert Lea Area Schools Teacher of the Year award.

The district states the purpose of the Teacher of the Year program is to express appreciation to the many outstanding educators whose examples serve as an inspiration to parents, students and fellow teachers.

The winner of the award in 2018 was Sibley and Lakeview Elementary School media specialist Kristen Seeger.

Not only are teachers the backbone of our nation’s education system, they are a guiding force in helping our children develop into healthy, happy and successful adults.

Regardless of what subject they teach, they put in countless hours of hard work both during and after the school day and often use many of their own dollars for their classrooms.

Nominations have to be turned in by Jan. 22 and can be turned in to www.alschools.org/TOY2019 or at the school offices.
